Good morning, SideLeaguers! There were some obvious plays that did well last night and some diamonds in the rough last night. Hopefully you found them, if not hopefully you went with the big plays. If you did neither, then hang your head in shame. Don’t cry though, that’s weird. You’re probably at work and you don’t want your co-workers judging you. Now let’s look at who filled the stat sheet in the NBA last night.
Michael Carter-Williams, Philadelphia 76ers: The 76ers may have lost last night and may not have much to celebrate this year, but they definitely have a bright spot in young MCW. As you can see in the tweet above, he’s the fastest player to reach 2 career triple-doubles since 1990. If I’m a Sixers fan, I’m looking forward to many more of these from Carter-Williams. Last night he racked up 66 SL points which is 38 points above his average which also makes him our OVERACHIEVER OF THE NIGHT!
Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks: You know the diamonds in the rough I mentioned earlier? This is one of them. Khris Middleton helped Milwaukee come back from being down 18 points to beat the Orlando Magic. His hot 4th quarter helped him gain 43 SL points last night. 24 above his normal average.
Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee Bucks: A double-double & 38 SL points for the starting power forward for the Milwaukee Bucks. Yes I know, 2 Milwaukee Bucks featured. Crazy right? Well, when you have a great night and help your team overcome an 18 point deficit/your team’s biggest comeback victory of the year, the team can get all the accolades they want.
Underachiever of the Night…
This dishonor goes to Nikola Vucevic. Vucci Mane scored 26 SL points last night, which is 10 under his average. I know he had a double-double but 26 points against the team that’s dead last against defending centers is a bit underwhelming. Maybe I’m a little bitter since I picked him to do well last night. How you gonna do me like that Nikola?!
