Top 5 MLB Home Runs of the Week. (4/18 – 4/24)

It’s that time of the week folks! We here at SideLeague take a look at the best home runs from the past week of MLB action. (click screenshot to view the majestic home run of your choice.)

#5: Michael Morse, April 23rd – The man with the highest batting average in Coors Field among active players (.442 avg) would hit 2 home runs on this day. When doing this, Morse would become the 3rd player since 2006 to hit multiple 450+ foot homers in the same game. This was the 1st.

#4: Josmil Pinto, April 20th – This was the longest home run by a member of the Twins (459 feet!) since Jim Thome knocked one 464 feet in 2011. The young Twins prospect has been quite the bright spot for the Twins in this young season.

#3: Chris Davis, April 23rd – Davis only has 2 home runs this year. Both against the Blue Jays. Maybe he should petition MLB to play all of his games against Toronto.

#2: Ian Desmond, April 21st – This home run by Desmond was measured at 462 feet. That would make it the 2nd longest home run hit in Nationals Park history.

#1: David Ortiz, April 22nd – The man who has played more games at DH than anyone else in history hit the longest homer by any member of the Red Sox in the last 9 seasons. Ortiz also made Masahiro Tanaka the 299th different pitcher to give up a home run against him.
