SideLeague’s MLB Fantasy Plays for 5.14

It’s hump day! This means that we’re halfway through our MLB match for the week. Hopefully, you’ve been doing well. If not, lucky for you we’ve still got 2 more days. Do remember we’ve got some afternoon games today in case you’re making tweaks to your lineup.

Pitchers

Johnny Cueto – Cueto probably has the best matchup on paper today. The only thing I’m worried about is the weather. Keep your eye on the forecast and to our Twitter (@sideleague.)

Madison Bumgarner – MadBum has already pitched well against this Braves team this season, going for 9 strikeouts. I see no reason why he can’t do something similar again.

Jake Odorizzi – This is your under the radar pitcher of the day. It’s a bit of a gamble, but I think as long as he holds his own against the left-handed hitters of Seattle, he’ll do just fine.

Hitters

Buster Posey – Posey is 6-of-9 with 2 HR against Julio Teheran.

Jose Abreu – Jose Abreu loves hitting the ball really hard and he faces Tommy Milone who loves to throw pitches that lets hitters do exactly that.

Brian Dozier – Dozier has been quite the surprise for the Minnesota Twins, he’s actually on pace to hit 50 HR & steal 50 bases. Good matchup against Felix Doubront today.

Marcus Semien – More picking on Milone, another under the radar play.

Ian Desmond – Brandon McCarthy may have looked decent in his last couple of starts, but I don’t think it will become a trend.

Wil Myers – Will Myers faces off against Brandon Maurer, who just isn’t that good. I think Myers will break out of his mini slump.

Nori Aoki – Aoki is 4-for-9 with 3 HR against Jhoulys Chacin in his career. Another under the radar play that could pay off huge.
