Who Should Be In The 2014 MLB All-Star Game?

I already know that people are going to have a problem with who I selected. It’s unavoidable. I’m not saying that my list is perfect, It’s as close as I believe I could get as to get everyone deserving into an All-Star game. I like to see players in the game that deserve it. Who have had a great 2014 thus far. I care nothing about what you’ve done in the past, what your legacy is, etc. If you’ve played like an all-star in 2014, you deserve to represent your ballclub.

To stay within the realistic expectations, I picked 34 guys & made sure that every team had representation. I also gave myself strict requirements within these rules.

Each team has 34 players. 6 outfield, 3 catchers, 12 infielders (3 at each infield position), 13 pitchers. This was tougher than I thought. Welp, enough chatter….

Yeah, I know. No Miggy, Cano or Brandon Moss. Between Altuve having a ridiculous 1st half and Dozier being the best player on the Twins so far & them needing a rep, cuts had to be made. When it came down to first basemen, It was between V-Mart & Miggy.  Victor’s got the better average, more homers, better OBP, better OPS. It’s all close, but if I had to choose, I’m going V-Mart.

I know that Gattis is on the DL but I’m not choosing injury replacements. If I had to, it’d be Posey.

In conclusion, the one player per team rule’s gotta go. It would’ve made this a lot easier. It also would’ve been easier if I could take like 6 first basemen on each squad. My teams aren’t perfect, but I stand by them. Go ahead, rip them apart. I’d love to hear you think I missed. Seriously. Comment below or hit me up on Twitter @sideleague.
