The Progressive Shot Chart of Chris Bosh

boshsc

Shout out to Kirk Goldsberry for this very cool, very animated shot chart of Chris Bosh’s career. It’s cool to see how much his career has progressed by becoming more of a long distance shooter as the years have gone on.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna be mesmerized and stare at this GIF for the next 3 hours.

Someone’s Grandpa Makes a Rap Song to bring Lebron James Back to Cleveland.

It ain’t no smack Lebron, they want you back.

Someone’s grandpa decided to step into the booth and give us some of that hot fire tellinus why Lebron needs to come back to Cleveland.

Is this good? No, not really. Not the point though. This is the song of the year and we’re not even out of May yet. I wish I could rap as well as this grandpa. I’d quit my job right now and put out track after track trying to get the best athletes to come play in my city.

If Lebron does indeed opt out of his contract for a homecoming, we have no one to thank but this old man.

Danny Green’s Unconscious Playoff Shot Chart

BoNfeMVCEAATUrk

Danny’s definitely had a “green” light in these playoffs. Get it? Man, I’m so punny. Anyway, this is a shot chart of his last 3 playoff games. We’re looking at 71% from the field (22-of-31!), including 71% from downtown (15-of-21!). Green has been giving the Thunder a taste of their own medicine by making it absolutely rain in the Western Conference Finals.

The Morning Wake-Up! 5.13.14

Good Morning, SideLeaguers! Hope this morning finds you well, let’s get into some of the happenings that you may have missed last night.

Mario Chalmers proved to us & his Miami teammates that he could actually dunk.

Then Lebron scored 49 points & Chris Bosh knocked down this clutch 3-pointer to give the Heat the W and the 3-1 series lead.

In late-night action, the Blazers fought off elimination by defeating the Spurs in Game 4 of their series.

At least Robin Lopez was honest about why the Blazers won.

Over on the ice, the Canadiens forced a game 7 with a 4-0 beatdown on the Bruins, thanks to plays like this.

Also, the Montreal fans decided to add insult to injury.

Have a better day than Milan Lucic & the rest of the Boston Bruins. Attack the day, people!

Kevin Durant’s Career Shot Chart

This is AMAZING work. Kirk Goldsberry of Grantland is a genius. This is every single shot that Kevin Durant has taken in his career. On a shot chart. This is incredible. You can click the picture and make it larger. Enjoy this piece of art. I’m gonna have this printed and framed for my bedroom.

Washington Wizards Head Coach Randy Wittman Owes His Players a Slam Dunk.

Any head coach loves to give their team extra motivation to win games. I mean, I’d hope so anyway. They wouldn’t be a very good coach if they didn’t.

Wizards head coach Randy Wittman placed a bet with his players that if they were able to beat the Chicago Bulls in the 1st round of this year’s playoffs, he’d attempt a dunk. Well, they delivered on their end of the bargain. Now the players are just waiting on Wittman to deliver his. Are his guys confident that he’ll come through?

“You think that’s possible? You’d think that’s even possible?” – Drew Gooden

“Witt got to be a man of his word,” “He was supposed to do it last round. He had up until the first game to dunk. You know Witt, he needs a couple days to get stretched out. Hopefully he’ll do it. I think he can do it. Maybe.” – Bradley Beal

“…I know it’s going to be hilarious.” – Marcin Gortat

“No way. No way. I don’t even think he can touch the net, to be honest.” – John Wall

Well, the vote of confidence is lacking to say the least. Just means you gotta prove the haters wrong coach Wittman!

Andrew Bynum Has Left The Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that center Andrew Bynum has been shut down for the year due to his knee issues. He also will be leaving the team. Bynum had a great run with the Pacers, playing in 2 games in mid-March.

Since Bynum was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers on August 10, 2012 he’s played in 29 games, appeared on the rosters of 4 teams and made somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 million. Keep getting them checks, big man. Now we leave you with all of the highlights of Bynum’s time in Indiana.

Golden State Warriors Make A Mistake in E-Mail to Fans.

Win a Game 7 on the road & fire your coach before the next series? Standard NBA procedure apparently. Well, if you’re the Golden State Warriors anyway.

Little do they know that the Warriors LOST that Game 7, but according to the team e-mail sent to season ticket holders, they didn’t.

The Dubs sent out an e-mail on Tuesday informing fans of the firing of Mark Jackson, but made a slight error. They later apologized and re-sent the e-mail.

Could you imagine, if a Warriors fan had actually thought they won and fired Mark Jackson? Man, is their face red.

Lady Gaga Fans Throwing Fits over Potential Conflict With Washington Wizards

The NBA released the Wizards-Pacers 2nd round playoff schedule and some people noticed a potential problem. If a Game 6 is reached, it falls on the same date of a Lady Gaga concert that is already planned that night (May 15th.) The Wizards released a statement saying…

“We are aware of the potential conflict and are working with the promoter in the event Game 6 is necessary, more information will be released when it becomes available.”

So what happens if the Pacers & Wizards get to a Game 6? Does the NBA flinch, does Lady Gaga flinch? Regardless of flinching, the Verizon Center is praying for a Wizards win in less than 6 games. Personally speaking, the Wizards ticket is the hotter item ($151 for the cheapest seat on StubHub, compared to $51.35 for Gaga.) Rightfully so, Gaga will tour again. The Wizards don’t have Game 6’s everyday.

The best part? Seeing people freak out about this on Twitter.

The Washington Wizards Have a Pretty Cool ‘Hustle Board’

The Washington Wizards have a pretty cool chart displaying hustle and charges and “TAKING PRIDE IN DOING ALL OF THE LITTLE THINGS THAT WIN BASKETBALL GAMES.”

I’d just like to point out a couple of things here…

  • Otto Porter, what’s good with your lack of hustle bro? No charges? Same to you Glen Rice!
  • John Wall’s taken a ton of charges. That’s odd right? Or is that just me?
  • Andre Miller’s kinda old so he doesn’t have to take many charges
  • Former Wizards only have 3? I don’t even know who that is, but I feel like they should have more.
